The collision occurred at the corner of Lincoln and Loretto avenues when a 2010 Nissan driven by a 57-year-old Oak Ridge man knocked a 2007 Honda CR-V into the corner eatery known as First on the Hawthorne side of the street across from Fair Lawn shortly before 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19.
The other vehicle, a 2010 Nissan, was so badly damaged that a huge chunk of its nose fell off.
The Honda driver, 54, of Paterson and passenger, 31, of Prospect Park, both women, were taken to St. Joseph's University Medical Center with leg injuries, Fair Lawn Police Sgt. Brian Metzler said.
The Nissan driver was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with neck and arm injuries, the sergeant said.
Hawthorne and Fair Lawn police responded -- and each took reports -- along with local firefighters and heavy rescue squads and the Fair Lawn Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Metzler said.
Both vehicles were towed.
A Hawthorne inspector was summoned to examine the building's structural integrity.
Some may recall a fleeing driver crashing into the side of the same building in February 2020, when it was the Bella Fig Italian restaurant. That driver was charged with DWI and aggravated assault while receiving 20 or so summonses.
